Before starting the official project, the first property here, Jumeirah beach hotel opened by developers WS Atkins and interior designer Khuan Chew, of KCA International in November 1997 after 3 years. Those are the same architects and designers who create Burj Al Arab and Wild Wadi Waterpark later on. Dubai Properties (a subsidiary of Dubai Holding), the developer of the Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR), started the official project in August 2002 worth 6 million dirhams, which was completed in 2010. The construction process of this district progressed very fast and in the first 40 months, as more than 22,000 staff from countries around the world collaborated to complete this project. Developers (Dubai properties and Mace as the project manager) installed extensive infrastructure including a bridge and a regional cooling system. A system that uses a network of underground pipes to deliver cool air cold water to all buildings and towers from a single central source.
Ways to access Jumeirah Beach Residence
The main access road is the north-south highway, which passes through Dubai and by Dubai Marina, connecting this area to all parts of the UAE and Abu Dhabi with an almost 1-hour drive. The 120-meter-long pedestrian bridge connecting King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Street and Al Gharbi Street in the JBR area has been completed recently in August 2020.
